Although I'm sure all our local traders are honourable, "caveat emptor" is a useful expression to remember. It is always advisable to have a second opinion before agreeing to having any work done and, if you live alone, have someone else with you when inviting an inspection of a problem: preferably someone who knows a bit about the area of the problem.
